Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year looms around the corner. It is a time of festive feasting and economic gains (from receiving Ang Baos). The whole town is covered in a sea of red and orange. Make shifts bazaars peddling CNY goods have been sprouting out in the past month. One can literally smell the festive mood in the air. Generally, everybody is in high spirits and looking forward to the occasion

I should be on cloud nine, however, my feelings are otherwise. Well the situation for me is that this will be the last CNY I’ll be celebrating as a single. From next CNY on, I’ll be married. And what implications might that bring? Man… This is officially the last year I’ll be receiving Ang Baos!!! Worse still, next time I’ll be expected to give them out!! Just imagine the financial implications, from profit to lost, surplus to deficit.

So, I’ll exceptionally treasure this CNY (for obvious reasons.. haha). I might even hint to my close relatives to give me a fatter Ang Bao this year, as this will be last they will give me.

P.S: Sigh.. I’m already thinking how to skip town during CNY next year.. haha

What a Valentine DaY!!

Dear n I went to celebrate Valentine's Day yest evening. I was the one who proposed that we shld celebrate a day earlier to avoid the crowd and Dear also have class to attend today. I even told him that we might as well not celebrate this v day as I feel that it is not so impt at this point of time in life. I dont feel like celebrating such commercialize event anymore... Had enough of it. However, the reply from him is that we have to go cos he knows that if we were to skip celebrating an occasion like this, i'll complain to him in future...in that case, he'll be the one suffering. Haha...However, I assured him that such thing will not happen...im more mature now ( at least that's how i feel). But he insisted on a celebration.

Back to our celebration yest night, we went to Holland V. for dinner. Dear suggested chinese food for the dinner cos im more into chinese food. But somehow or rather, i feel that on v day,we shld go for western food since we r celebrating a "western" ocassion. So we ended up in Hog's Breath. Both of us ordered steak... I must say that their steak is quite good. After our meal, we went to Indochine for a drink. I had the worst white wine in my life there... The white wine tasted funny, i couldn't figure out what's wrong with the taste but the after taste was horrible. Drank half of it n dear finished up the rest for me. keke... Oh ya.. Forgotten abt the rose.. When i came back from the washroom, climbing back to my own seat, Dear bent over to help me, then i was like..." I wasn't drunk, don't have to help me". The next moment, i felt something hard on my seat. Its was a stalk of rose inside a cylindrical plastic holder. It was then that i realised what's going on a moment ago. He wasn't trying to help me back to my seat. He's afraid that i might flattened the rose.. ^_^ The first word that came out from his mouth next is "Stupid Girl!" hahaha....Its wasn't my fault. Its was so dark in there, how could i possibly see the rose on my seat and furthermore, i wasn't expecting anything from him ( we agreed not to buy any presents for each other this v day ). Nevertheless, i was delighted & touched to see the rose. Its was a nice n peaceful evening with us chatting away, exchanging ideas for our big day...

Things don't turned out as what I thought it would be......I seems to have changed my mind today. The thought that im gg home for dinner tonight makes me feel a bit empty. I feel like celebrating V DAY... Oh no....seems that Dear knows me too well.. Right from the start, he already told me that i would want to celebrate for this ocassion. Have been pondering whether to let him know about this..Finally, i sms him before lunch n told him abt it. I guess he muz have guessed this. Muz be thinking that im very fickle-minded. Changing my mind every other min. I'm felt embarrassed. I thought I'll be matured enough to handle this....but seems like im wrong. Anyway, I cant be bothered anymore.. What's most impt is that I'm going out for a hot date with my love one tonight...Keke....

1st Appointment

Went for our first appointment with HDB on tue afternoon, was so excited abt it. The night before, I had a serious talk with FH regarding the loan that we will be taking up. How much we want to fork out for the mthly installment, the no. of years for the loan, and the interest thats going to build up. So many factors to consider. Luckily we already directed some of the cpf amount to investment, that will act as a buffer for future emergency use. In the end, we decided to shorten the loan period in order to save on the interest. I'm surprised that by shortening the loan period by 5years, the savings on interest can be ard 40k. OHH... thats the kind of money that we have to pay. Can't imagine the amount that we need to pay if we are taking up bank loan.Fortunately for us,my dad managed to make it for the 1st appointment, initially he was scheduled to start work by this date. Without his presence and signature, we wldn't be able to get the housing grant (near parents). Keke..

We was the first to reach HDB. My agent, the seller & seller's agent were late. Hmm.. Without the seller's presence, we couldn't get a queue no. for the appointment. I was abit pissed by that. We were then directed by our agent to the second level where we will called for the appointment. The seller only arrived at 2pm. The agent immediately went to get a queue no for us. It wasn't quite long before our no. appeared on the screen. The seller was called first and afterwhich, our turn. The officer attending to us was very fast. She talked fast and her hands moved fast as well. Within five min, we are done. Actually we are signing without looking at the documents. She is so fast that we don't even have a chance to comment or take a look at anything. haha.. Afterwhich then i realised that this is only the preliminary round of checking documents. There's still another round.. So we went back to our seats and continue to wait..... Ard 20-30mins later, its finally our turn to go into the "room". This time, we went in first instead of the seller. The officer wants us to confirm the price of the property we are buying and the cash-above-valuation we need to pay. After that, he asked about the loan period we are taking up. He showed us the monthly payment we have to pay according to the no. of yrs of loan. Luckily we already know what we want, so we can tell him straight. If we were to go unprepared, it will be quite stressful to make a decision on the spot. :) After coming out from the room, the agent brought us to the place where we have to pay for the cash-above-valuation and the caveat fees. Omg! While writing the cheque, my heart bleeds....Forking out so much money at one shot...More to come for the reno n furnishing......Haha..But im willing to let go of the money for our happiness...^_^
