wEDDING pACKAGE

Sigh… Deciding on which wedding package to take can be such a chore. So many things to consider, so many shops to visit, in short so many things to do!! What a headache, but come to think about it, it better to suffer a headache then a heartache (regretting that you sign on the package after placing a deposit)

Went to check out more bridal shops yesterday. We decided to hit the Bugis stretch of bridal shop, after the Tanjong Pagar outing bore no fruit. Sigh.. another long day. You might think that shopping of bridal packages is as simple as shopping for groceries. Step into a bridal, browse through that they have, if its not to your liking, step out, hit another shop and go through the whole process till you hit the jackpot. Well think again, if it only would be so simple, life would be much more pleasant. Once inside and shop, be prepared to face the constant bombardment from the relentless sales staff. They will harass, cajole, play up your ego, do anything in there book of tricks to try to make you sign on the dotted line. Do exercise caution as beneath the teflon laced words, lies many hidden cost. Well going into a shop is like entering a war zone, treading on thin ice, one wrong step or one moment you less down your guard; down you fall into the deep abyss. It's not my intention to paint such a bleak picture, there are instances where this is not true, but these are exception cases.

There we are standing outside a bridal shop browsing through the photo album they have on display. Then suddenly I heard someone calling my my name, to my surprise, it was my ex-classmate. It was 8 long years since we last met, what an uncanny place for a reunion. We immediately hit-off rekindling the old times. It turns out too that he too is out shopping for the same thing, and he is very pleased with that shop. He highly recommends it to me and we started the whole process again. Well this time, it was not too bad an experience, the staff wasn't too pushy and was honest. All hidden cost was laid out and the pricing was transparent. Looks like my it the bounty twice today, meeting up with an old friend and finding a bridal shop that is to our liking. We ended up spending nearly 3 hours in the shop. The shopping trip today was rather fruitful.

Well back we go to the drawing board decide on the bridal shops that we short listed 2 shops. One more pricey but offering more artistic value, the other is more economical but ordinary. After a lengthy discussion, my FW and I can’t get to a conclusion. We decided that the best approach would be to toss a coin, let fate decided which shop. The coin would be the outcome of the HDB balloting exercise. That’s another story for another time….

Kan Jiong Spider

Hasn't been sleeping well these few nights. Lotsa things running thru my mind. All revolves ard my wedding. God!! Its still a good 12mths away and Im already feeling so stress up abt it. Am I being too "Kan Jiong" or is it very normal for all btb??? Dear kept telling me that I should get my priorities right. I shld concentrate on my coming exam instead of fretting over wedding matters. However, I just cant get things off my mind and i simply can't concentrate on my studies. Sigh.. But nvm, I'm flying off to bkk over the weekends. Shld be able to let out all my stress thru my shopping sprees...haha.....

Fats and more fats.....

After trying on the gowns at the bridal shop, I knew I really had to slim down. There are many lovely gowns which I cant fit in. I want to have more options when comes to choosing my WG. So really had to watch my diet and hit the gym regularly. But it seems like mission impossible to me.. Sigh...Wonder if i can ever slim down. Im afraid that my determination is not strong enough n i might give up halfway thru....

Busy Bee

Im too lazy to post anything here for the past week. Hehe…have been bery busy scouting for bridal package these two weeks. So far, only been to 4shops. The impression for the first 3 shops that we to was very bad as they use hard-selling technique. Throwing in lotsa freebies to attract you..and most imptly they insist that you sign with them on the spot, claiming that you will not enjoy those freebies once you step out of the shop. I'm so piss by their attitude. However, I really love the gowns in one of the shops. But the review in forum for the shop is very negative. Alot of people commented on the poor service after signing up with them. As for the fourth shop that i went to, it gave me a very nice feeling. No hard-sell sales to bombard me with their packages, in fact, the photographer and designer are the ones who served me.. They showed me their photos which i love alot...its not those conventional portrait albums..The photos are very natural. Not those where the photographer will ask you to pose and they snap. Their concept is to measure to made a story album, which captures the most natural side of the couple.. My bf love it alot as well. One thing is that their price is abit steep and they do not include alot of things in the package. If we were to sign up for the package, we will hv to get our own bridal car as well. That will means extra cost. ANother factor is the gown. though they have nice gowns, but its not as nice as the ones i c in the prev shop. Sigh.....Guess i cant have the best of both worlds rite.....

Wedding Banquet

Finally booked the venue for our banquet (GPPR) last sat. Went to take a look at the ballroom again. The march-in is quite short but pillarless. The plus point is that the reception area will be exclusively ours. So we won't see any strangers walking around. Haha...However, I do find that the deco of the ballroom too simple. I would like something more elaborate. After all, its once in a life time thingy, of course i want it to be memorable for both of us as well as our guest. Hmm...If our budget permits, I'm thinking of doing up the ballroom in addition to what the hotel's florist can provide. We booked a tentative date on 3 Nov 2007. Actually we wanted 20 Oct 2007, however, we will be on waiting list if we want the date. Hopefully the other couple will give up the date. Oct is a good month for us as my bf will be having exams during Dec...If we were to hold our wedding in Nov, it will be kinda too rush for him. However, sometimes things don't go the way we want it to. Its beyond our control.

**Dilemma**

We are going to sign our banquet package on sat. But Im feeling quite uncertain. Should we go on searching for other hotels or should we just settle for this one? Im just afraid that we might find better packages by other hotels in future. Furthermore, we have not fixed a date for our wedding as the "tong shu" is not out yet. Therefore, we will have to book a tentative date with the hotel, then change in future if the date we chose happens not to be the "auspicious" date. By that time, Im not sure what will be the dates left. However, if we don't sign the package now, we won't be able to enjoy the wedding show perks offered to us.

Our First BloG

So happy to start up my first blog in my whole entire life. Guess some of you might think that im too outdated. Haha.. Actually, it my FH who suggested starting a blog. He mentioned that by setting up such a blog, we will be able to pen down the entire flow of our wedding preparation. I think thats very sweet of him.
